Meribel - Mottaret

Sitting at 1700 meters, Meribel Mottaret is a skiers dream as you step out of your accommodation into the middle of The Three Valleys.

Meribel Mottaret is a sometimes forgotten satellite village of Meribel Centre, most use it as a hub to pass through when exploring the Three Valleys. But those in the know, are wise to its ideal location as a ski holiday base camp.

The village is mainly made up of accommodation, ski lifts and essential amenities. Like many newer villages, it was initially developed in preparation for the 1992 Winter Olympics.

For those residing in Meribel Mottaret, there is a small selection of slopeside restaurants ready for you to enjoy a long sunny lunch or a quiet evening meal.

Local ski shops and convenience stores have you covered for all the essential items including ski rental, a Tabac and mountain snacks.

Accommodation is all on the hillside and completely ski-in/ski-out, this means much of it is accessible via ski lift. The dream. There are few better-located ski resorts as you step out of your accommodation into the middle of The Three Valleys.

Free ski buses run early until late for access to the more lively Meribel, so you can go crazy at apres-ski before retreating to the sanctuary of Mottaret.

The Ski Area

Meribel Mottaret is the ski hub for The Three Valleys meaning you have immediate access to a world-class lift network.

You’ll easily be the first one up the mountain in the morning to carve up the fresh groomers. You can jump straight onto the lifts serving Courchevel or Val Thorens valleys too.

Beginners learn on the mellower slopes leading down into Meribel Centre and the gentle altiport zone. A network of blue and red runs enable all abilities to explore the entire ski area. Advanced skiers drool at the prospect of being first on the mountain to hit iconic freeride powder zones like Mont Vallon.

Meribel Mottaret is a pure skiers village providing ski-in/ski-out accommodation literally in the middle of the world’s largest ski area.
